Relationship is a path of personal growth and development. The focus of my work is on helping people mature and build satisfying and authentic partnerships. My style is personal, direct and at times confrontational, in a way that many couples find refreshing. I use my position as a witness of your relationship to help each of you take responsibility for your needs, desires, and impact, and get what you really want from your relationship. My work is largely informed by the developmental model of couples therapy, and I place a strong emphasis on differentiation, as this helps individuals claim their needs and preferences directly. Many people grew up with dysfunctional relationship models. It can be helpful in this case for the therapy work to include some formal education about how to resolve conflict, self- regulate, and co-regulate.

I frequently work with couples who have a lot of active conflict, and/ or are at a major inflection point in their relationship and trying to make some big decisions. Our work together often includes defining terms, establishing agreements, and creating “relationship contracts” so that you leave your therapy with a more loving, and more functional relationship.

We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.
