THERAPIST

Binky Mendoza, AMFT

EDUCATION

MA in Somatic Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, 2020

Navigating the complexities of relationships can be a challenging journey. Nevertheless, it also brings with it the potential for so much growth, healing, and positive change. I believe this potential is unlocked when there is motivation to get curious, cultivate awareness, try new things, and develop new capacities and skills.

As a therapist, I am committed to helping individuals harness this transformative power of relationships. My aim is to assist you in developing the tools and insights required to not only weather the storms but also to thrive in your personal and interpersonal life.

I believe that relationships act as mirrors, reflecting back to us aspects of ourselves we may have never encountered otherwise. They bring to the surface hidden yet powerful forces that often guide our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Recognizing these forces and patterns is the first step toward the possibility of experiencing profound personal growth and positive change.

I use an integrative approach in doing this work. I draw from different modalities that allow us to understand and work with attachment patterns, the nervous system, trauma, and, equally important, your strengths and resources.

I have an MA in Somatic Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, having earned my degree in 2020. To further enhance my clinical expertise, I engage in ongoing professional development, participating in specialized programs such as AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, and various somatic and experiential approaches to couples therapy.

We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.
